  • Event Details

The event will be a 4-game guarantee and will be a 3-day event. There will be NO gate fees (except at the ARSC – $5.00 for spectators over the age of 12) NO umpire fees and NO parking fees. Based on projected participation the format will be 2 (pool play) games on day one and then the Split Bracket double elimination championship brackets on day two and three.

Entry payment and withdraw deadline is 14 days prior to event start at 6pm – no exceptions.

In some situations, an extra pool play game (for one team) is necessary for all teams to get their required number of pool play games. If your team would like this game (if this dynamic exists) please let me know prior to bracketing. If no team wants the extra pool play game it will be assigned to the last paid team. This game will count toward pitching and seedings for elimination play.

Rosters should be up to date and posted on the national USSSA web site by 3pm three days prior to the start of the event. Please bring a parent signed copy of your roster for check in the first day of the event for every player whos parent has not approved the player on the teams roster.

    9 Divisions of play with separate brackets for 8u (CP), 9u, 10u, 11u, 12u, 13u, 14u, 16u and 18u Team Trophies per championship flight – 1st-2nd and Individual Awards 1st and 2nd place teams.

Events are marketed and posted as “Open” events – when there are enough entries (normally 8 AAA/Maj teams AND 8 AA teams) the event may be split into separate AA and Open divisions.  It is the responsibility of the manager of each team to ensure they are accurately classified, at the entry deadline, if the event is split into separate divisions.  The State Director, of each team’s state, has the sole jurisdiction to confirm each team’s classification and may make classification changes up to the start of each event.  If you are a AA team and want to participate in the AAA/Open division you must inform the TD prior to the entry deadline and you must ensure your team is properly classified with your teams State Director.

Contact Dana Gilmer – 505-417-1810 or [email protected] for more details. Visit the local program web site @ www.abqusssa.com for more information.

If a team has a schedule request for pool play games they will be prioritized based on when the entry fee is received giving preference to out of town teams. Requests must be submitted NLT entry deadline. IF NECESSARY the last paid local teams may play on the day prior to published start date.

Teams will hit their own USSSA approved baseballs.  If you don’t have USSSA approved baseballs there is usually a limited quantity of baseballs for sale, (on consignment) for $65.00 per dozen.

Insurance Disclaimer – Teams must have their own USSSA insurance.

    AAD/USSSA Weather Delay Procedures

Lightning – a delay will be called by the game officials or Site Director (SD), for any contest where lightning strikes occur (per the WeatherBug App) within 5 miles of a contest site.  The delay will remain in force until no strikes have occurred, within 5 miles, for 30 minutes.

Rain – a delay will be called, by the game officials, if the rain is falling to a degree where it presents a safety concern.  Play will resume after the game officials inspect the field and determine it is playable.  If a field is deemed unplayable the teams will be informed by the SD, game officials or event office and the game will be made up or continued at a later time, if not a regulation game.

Some facilities are better suited to withstand significant moisture so if either team leaves the contest site without a field being deemed unplayable by site staff or the event office – the status of the game, when suspended, will be deemed a regulation game regardless of inning.

Wind- The game officials may, on rare occasions, momentarily halt play but contests will not be cancelled or suspended due to wind.

Resuming play – Once the field is determined to be playable the game clock will resume 10 minutes later.
